Our Mission
Terra Roots Foundation recognizes the shared multicultural aspect of human expression and acknowledges that expression through art constitutes the uniqueness that defines humanity. Terra Roots looks to create and promote a contemporary artistic discourse as part and parcel of the greater modern sensibility. We identify this expression as a catalyst to present a unified voice, explore needs, foster communication, and cultivate solid communities.

What We Do
Summer Meltdown

A 4-night, 3-day music and camping festival in Washington State.
Summer Meltdown is the largest independent camping and music festival in the Pacific Northwest. Nestled at the foot of majestic Whitehorse Mountain in the heart of the Cascades, the festival features over 30 bands on three stages over three days, the Green Village showcasing environmental and social outreach, food, craft and retail vendors, a Kids’ Area, Kids’ Parade, the Little Seahorse Music Academy and more.
Summer Meltdown promotes sustainability and responsibility, running increasingly successful recycling and composting programs, and is a national leader in innovation: We were the first festival in Washington State to run 99% recycled bio-diesel (used vegetable oil, etc.) and breaking through this barrier – previously, the limit imposed by generator companies was 20% bio-diesel — represented a tremendous advance for the environmental movement in Wash. state.

Meltdown Encore
It’s a family get-together.
Meltdown Encore is a chance to see some of our favorite performers from Summer Meltdown, buy Meltdown merch (including tickets for next year’s festival, at the lowest price they’ll ever be), watch a slideshow and see friends old and new. It’s a family get-together, in other words.
Winter Warmup
Our mid-winter, come-in-from-the-cold, summer-is-coming family get-together.
Our mid-winter, come-in-from-the-cold, summer-is-coming family get-together, featuring alumni or upcoming acts from Summer Meltdown. Past Winter Warmups have featured Vicci Martinez, Handful of Luvin’, Izabella and more.
Warm Clothes, Warm Souls
Our annual clothing drive, bringing together local venues, bands and fans.
Our annual clothing drive, bringing together local venues, bands and fans to generate tons of winter clothing for local non-profits.
Rebearth
Seattle’s annual Earth Day celebration.
Seattle’s Earth Day Celebration event! Rebearth brings together environmental action, families and local musicians for a day of fun and celebration. With a full lineup of music and speakers, a green village, a kids’ area and the Little Seahorse Music Academy, Rebearth is so fun you’ll feel like you’ve been born again.
Little Seahorse Music Academy
Local musicians and donated musical equipment together with kids and their parents.
Educational fun for the little ones! Kids of all ages are welcome to participate, with a strong emphasis for those from 5-12yrs. Little Seahorse brings donated instruments for the next generation to try and local musicians to help them learn how to jam!
Little Seahorse has been a staple of the Summer Meltdown festival for several years, and has also been present at Rebearth festival and other events.
